I didn't notice anything obvious, but I have ordered the PCV and ESM (fuel vapor leak detection pump) should have them tomorrow. Any idea what else it #1 · Jan 30, 2016 Has anyone out there had major engine problems with the 5.7 Hemi? I just forked over about $2000 to fix my 5.7. It showed itself as a cylinder 3 misfire code and a bad miss and vibration. Turned out to be a bad lifter that wore the cam lobe for #3 almost flat. The temperature sensor for this transmission is inside the TRS/solenoid block, which is bolted to the valve body. There are a few scenarios possible for this fault: a: The transmission fluid is really too hot. b: The transmission fluid temperature sensor is faulty. c: The PCM is faulty. d: Wiring problem. The 5.7L Hemi is a great engine. It paired with the 545RFE transmission and you will be on the road for quite some time. I have 120k miles on mine and have had no engine problems whatsoever. Vary rarely do we see any problems with these engines here on the forums. 2010 JKU - Stock for now. Help! 2007 Gr Cherokee Stalling. My 2007 Gr Cherokee Limited (5.7 Hemi 145k miles) has been stalling. It does it when driving and temp, weather, speed, etc have no effect on when it stalls. It has stalled at idle, too. Now that I've replaced it (properly bled, used Zerex G05, new water pump, 190 degree tstat and hoses) the car seems to run hotter than it used to while at idle before the hydraulic OjL4.
